Description

The A/B Testing and Personalization Analyst is a hands-on role, where you will work as part of the team that oversees our A/B testing and personalization initiatives. The Optimization team aims to improve bn.coms content, design, and usability for our customers and to create unique experiences based on our customers preferences and behaviors. You will be responsible for executing critical tests and personalization initiatives alongside business units such as merchandising, UX, creative, editorial and technology to ensure we are delivering the most optimum experience for our customers to drive greater conversions. You effectively collaborate, communicate, and organize within Barnes & Noble and its partners to create the best BarnesandNoble.com every day.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates effectively with external testing partners/agency and internal business units around test strategy, execution, and personalization tactics
• Organizes multiple tests and timelines while communicating and updating effectively across all business units as needed
• Manages use of personalization platforms such as Dynamic Yield to deliver unique experiences to individual customers and customer segments
• Works with teams to understand business needs and incorporate changes and additions into an active timeline
• Establishes and maintains a global process to govern and educate business teams around testing/personalization
• Executes day-to-day test result reporting and test design/setup via Optimizely & Adobe Analytics
• Uses analysis to draw out business and audience insights from data and translates data into a concise, logical, and digestible format for BN internal discussions and interactions
• Uses analysis to identify segments that surface from personalization and testing tactics
• Presents data to internal stakeholders and engages them in discussion
• Switches gears quickly between different tests and analysis spanning across different business priorities
• Reports into Sr. Director of Digital Optimization with regular check-ins and prioritization of tasks as well as goal setting and career development

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on testing experience including testing experience in an ecommerce environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related or technically rigorous field, or equivalent work experience
• Agency experience a plus, especially if worked on large complex/retail accounts.
• Familiarity with testing/personalization platforms (ie. Adobe Test & Target, Optimizely, Dynamic Yield)
• Experience analyzing data & statistics
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Effective at creating business reports and communicating results
• Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts)
• Self-motivated, eagerness to learn, and accountable to work while taking directions well
• A curiosity for data-driven marketing and e-commerce
• A passion for books and creating a fantastic online customer experience.
