Description

The Sales & Operations Planning Integration (S&OPI) team is an integral part of the Barnes & Noble supply chain. We facilitate the execution of all merchandising initiatives by managing product inflow and outflow of the companys 2 Distribution Centers (Monroe, NJ and Reno, NV).

As a member of the S&OPI team, you collaborate with stakeholders across the Merchandise, Store and Distribution/Logistics organizations to support the efficient flow of product in and out of the Distribution Centers for all Merchandising initiatives and promotions. You act as a central point of contact between the Merchant and Planning & Allocation teams on all product flow issues. Advise Operations teams on all product handling, workload priority, capacity planning, and unforeseen changes to the merchandise plans.

Essential Functions

• Ensures efficient and effective execution of the Merchandise plan.
• Works collaboratively with Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Logistics and DC Operations team to gather all needed information (e.g., POs, Capacity, DC and In-Store dates) to finalize the plan.
• Provides Logistics and DC Operations teams with all necessary information regarding PO and vendor information for all Merchandise Calendar events.
• Supports the development and implementation of the processes and reports required to manage and prioritize workflow to ensure the successful integration of the Merchandise with the Operations Plan (Distribution & Logistics)
• Mitigates product remediation risk by partnering with vendors and internal partners on product compliance standards

Qualifications

• Able to initiate decisive, timely action to address day-to-day issues and obstacles, redirecting efforts to assure on-time execution and quality results
• Exercises sound judgment to effectively solve problems
• Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, customer-focused, etc.
• Works collaboratively with others to meet the needs of the organization
• Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Able to recognize required capabilities and skill gaps and update knowledge to handle new challenges and responsibilities
• Follows up to ensure all work requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or other related field
• At least 1 year of S&OP, Supply Chain management, demand or inventory experience preferred
• Experience within a highly nuanced and fast-paced business environment
• Excellent communication including written, verbal, and presentation to senior level audience
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
