Description

As Business Development Coordinator, you support the home office based Business Development team. You are a key liaison role between the field and Home Office. In this role you will ensure extraordinary customer service, and you incorporate new ways to enhance department efficiencies.

Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain reporting for Business Development leadership that includes: analytical spreadsheets, coordination of tactical and strategic initiatives, and other specific projects.
• Tracking and some project management responsibilities of key initiatives, managing timelines and alerting management to discrepancies.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail/email/communication regarding RFPs, responding to all store, field, and Home Office inquiries.
• Create standardized reporting that allows RBDMs and CBDMs to monitor RFPs and related activities.
• Administrative support for other colleagues within the Business Development group.
• Monitor and observe trends for departmental initiatives.
• Liaison with other key internal, external and regional/district/BD customers.
• Act with integrity and trust, promoting our bookselling culture and the core values of Barnes & Noble when interacting with the store team and customers.

Qualifications

• You must organize, communicate, prioritize, and balance multiple projects simultaneously, while being flexible to conditions, remaining focused and using resources effectively and efficiently to get things done.
• You communicate (verbal or written) clearly and succinctly, getting messages across to others with the desired impact.
• You must be detail-oriented and able to multitask, managing your time efficiently while working under strict deadlines and often independently.
• You must be proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A college degree is preferred.
• A minimum of two to three years of experience and you must have a basic understanding of customer service and all store processes.
