Description

The Communication Facilitator will provide timely, accurate communication to and from our stores. Act as a central repository for the flow of store communication, reducing the volume of communication to home office executives, and allows for cataloging and tracking of systemic issues. Facilitate the identification of systemic issues so that they can be resolved.

Essential Functions

• Actively manage the Store Operations email box and phone number, as a single source for feedback that pertains to the stores. • Vet the validity of issues raised by store personnel, funnel the question or issue to the appropriate function/department or respond to it directly • Follow up within an established time frame to ensure the solution was received and is working • Log, organize and report issues weekly to the Director, Store Operations; information will be shared with RVPs and DMs as needed. • Help to create, utilize communication templates and protocols. • Provide detailed succinct professional communication to stores and senior management • Assist our merchants in creating appropriate responses to store base inquiries.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. • Able to compose, edit and proofread text • Detail oriented, organized, set and quickly shift priorities as needed • Technical savvy, fearless when learning to technology tools. • Experience with MS Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint is a plus. • Self-directed, also able to collaborate as part of a team • Bachelor’s Degree in a related major or comparable experience • 2 or more years of experience working for Barnes & Noble or comparable retailer
