Description

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the corporate finance function of weekly and monthly forecasts, annual budgets, ad hoc reporting, and variance analysis. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and be able to work both independently and as part of a team to help the FP&A team achieve our goals of financial reporting & communications excellence.

Essential Functions

• Plays an integral role in supporting corporate financial planning by working with business partners to prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze and report on variances, and create quality reports that improve financial communication in the organization.
• Provides interpretative analysis of revenue and operating expenses as compared to actual, budget, short and long term financial data and metrics.
• Reviews performance of projects against approved budgets to determine accuracy of projections and success against approved budgets and timelines.
• Creates tools for regular and ad hoc analysis of new projects, ongoing initiatives, and overall business.
• Provides input on the development of consolidation and reporting tools.
• Works with the team currently managing company enterprise financial reporting systems and business intelligence tools, and data warehouse environment.
• Reports into financial planning group and will work closely with Finance, Accounting, and all groups within the company as it relates to compliance with financial goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Role requires strong analysis and presentation skills primarily using MS desktop applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred including experience writing and editing macros.
• Must have strong initiative and drive to work independently as needed.
• Experience with Financial Reporting Systems (Hyperion, Oracle, BPC) beneficial.
• Undergraduate degree (or higher); Finance, Accounting, or Economics majors preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
