Description

As a Front-End Application Developer at Barnes & Noble, you are a senior level C# developer who has expertise in development of WPF applications. You work within the Information Technology Department producing software applications in support of the business processes in Merchandising Systems. You will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team supporting the companys enterprise software development initiatives working with business stakeholders to understand real world business requirements and to design and develop enterprise level solutions.

Essential Functions

• Writes software specifications, responsible for SW design and design documentation and participates in SW testing plan writing.
• Responsible for the development of new or improved products or systems, using a variety of programming methods to meet specifications and functional requirements.
• Designs, implements, debugs, run unit-testing and integration testing and takes part in system testing, based on the company’s standards.
• Responsible for the maintenance of in-house and third-party SW tools and modules.
• Should have a strong knowledge of NHibernate, XML, Spring Dependency Injection, SVN, Log4J, NUnit, and SOA.
• In-depth understanding of object-oriented development, Design Patterns & Practices.
• Ability to work in fast paced development environment.
• In-depth understanding of relational databases, experience with oracle database.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Has good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Knows how to contribute individually while working collaboratively as a team member.
• Experience with .NET 4.5 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
• Experience developing client/server solutions using WPF and/or WCF Services.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience with .NET C# application development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems or Information Systems.
