Description

This role reports to the Sr. HR Director, but will operate independently as the primary HR Contact point to support the needs of the home office population. This role includes ownership of the full employee life cycle, from recruitment to offboarding and everything in between.

Essential Functions

• Own the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding of new employees to conducting exit interviews and off-boarding of separating employees.
• Full-cycle recruiting for various positions and levels including writing job descriptions, posting, sourcing qualified candidates through ATS, interview scheduling, interviewing/selection, and full onboarding.
• Develop a deep and collaborative relationship within assigned population.
• Partner with managers on recruitment needs, documentation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
• Counsel managers on HR best-practices, including performance management.
• Assist/conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues as they arise, to include partnering with Sr. Director as needed.
• Coach Home Office employees on Human Resources initiatives and company policies.
• First level escalation of questions regarding payroll, benefits, and general inquiries; liaise with the Benefits Department regarding FMLA and STD cases.
• Support consistency through policy execution, documentation and by following procedures and standards.
• Oversee activities and initiatives to support and engage employees within the 5th Ave. office and provide recommendations to maximize organizational engagement.
Maintain data in PeopleSoft including data entry and reporting. HRIS – light reporting/analysis.
• Follow changes in employment laws and ensure company compliance with any relevant changes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, employee relations best-practices, presentation skills, and recruiting practices to include sourcing and interviewing/selection experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as a customer service orientation.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality/discretion in all work place and HR matters and make well-informed decisions.
• Prior experience in retail or hospitality preferred.
• Prior experience supporting an IT or Finance group preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of Peoplesoft a plus
• PHR/SHRM-CP preferred

Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4-6 years of HR experience
