The Barnes & Noble Summer Internship program is designed to provide students with the exciting opportunity to apply their education in a real-life professional setting, while gaining valuable industry experience and transferable skills. This will be a paid 10-week program, in which Interns will partner with Mentors on accomplishing impactful company projects. The program will begin on June 4th and end on August 10th.

Department/Position Overview:

The Barnes & Noble Application Development team develops, deploys, and manages applications for our corporate, retail and ecommerce fulfillment systems. The Application Development Intern will have the opportunity to work with the different application teams on the delivery of a critical technology initiative to migrate all applications to an internal cloud.

Essential Functions

• Facilitate migrating custom and package applications to new internal cloud
• Understand and document existing application architecture and dependencies

Qualifications

• Students must have HS Diploma or GED and must be enrolled as at least rising Junior in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program, or enrolled in an accredited Master’s degree program.
• Must be available to work a 40 hour workweek, Monday through Friday.
• Preferred degree field: Information Systems
• A self-starter with strong organization, time-management, multi-tasking, problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical skills.
• Works well under deadlines; innovative and team-oriented.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio
