The Barnes & Noble Summer Internship program is designed to provide students with the exciting opportunity to apply their education in a real-life professional setting, while gaining valuable industry experience and transferable skills. This will be a paid 10 week program, in which Interns will partner with Mentors on accomplishing impactful company projects. The program will begin on June 4th and end on August 10th.

Essential Functions

•Maintains warehouse Standard Operating Procedures
•Performs cost analysis and time studies
•Develops project plans for possible re-layout of various warehouse areas.
•Observes, defines, and presents additional way to increase productivity and streamline processes during observations made during duration of the internship


Position Requirements:

•Students must have HS Diploma or GED and must be enrolled as at least rising Junior in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program, or enrolled in an accredited Master’s degree program
•Must be available to work a 40 hour workweek, Monday through Friday
•Enrolled in Engineering discipline, preferably Industrial
•Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
•Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented
•Experienced in Microsoft Office

What You Will Learn:
•How to work with various departments to collect necessary data to complete projects
•How to use, create and conduct time studies on a time study software
•How to analyze time study data and develop a cost analysis to determine if a project makes financial sense
