Description

The International Sales Assistant provides support to the international and Subsidiary rights department on a variety of tasks, including the maintenance and distribution of sales materials and information, and follow-up communication with Export Sales and Subrights customers.

Essential Functions

• Responds to daily inquiries from Export Sales and Subrights customers and international commission reps; includes providing title and rights information, sales materials, and sales reports.
• Manages distribution of sales materials and samples to reps, distributors, and key accounts.
• Maintains international customer database, customer mailing lists, and executes catalog mailings.
• Prepares drop ship orders for key titles.
• Orders and ships files and materials for Subrights customers.
• Uploads and updates materials to ftp site.
• Coordinates calendars for book fairs. Prepares and ships sales kits for international sales trips and book fairs.
• Creates and distributes publicity and sales newsletters to international customers.
• Creates, maintains and updates seasonal and title specific order forms and region-specific sell sheets.
• Processes quarterly commission statements and payments.
• Processes new account applications and liaises with credit control.
• Works with customer service, credit control, warehouse and shipping to ensure timely deliveries of key orders.
• Runs daily, monthly and ad hoc sales reports as needed.
• Uses Data Warehouse to illustrate sales trends and title analysis.
• Provides general departmental administrative support, including filing and shipping.

Qualifications

•4 year college degree or equivalent work experience.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
•Minimum 1 year prior work experience or related internships within book publishing.
•Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
•Proven ability to work within fast-paced deadline driven environment.
