Description

The Sales & Operations Planning Integration (S&OPI) team is an integral part of the Barnes & Noble supply chain. We facilitate the execution of all merchandising initiatives by managing product inflow and outflow of the companys 2 Distribution Centers (Monroe, NJ and Reno, NV). As the Sr. S&OPI Analyst, you help lead the charge by collaborating with various teams across the business, including but not limited to: Merchandising, Inventory Management, DC Operations, & Logistics to manage the outbound product flow and ensure that product arrives in-stores on time. You act as second in command for the S&OPI team, representing the S&OPI Manager when needed. You develop and implement process improvement initiatives for the company, always keeping in mind quality, speed to market, and cost.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the management of the S&OPI outbound process, including but not limited to meeting in-store dates promotions and in-store initiatives, inventory analysis, and pack & hold management for all Business Units • Lead S&OPI process through collaboration with Merchants, Inventory Management, Logistics, and Operations • Support inventory strategies toward inventory optimization through effective S&OPI execution, ensuring DC alignment to demand and planning processes • Facilitate regular collaborative meetings with organizational partners on strategic end-of process reviews, demand/supply plans, issues, and mitigating actions • Develop and implement new process improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies within the Distribution Centers • Identifies and communicates all information pertinent to inbound and outbound product flow to Logistics and Operations to ensure efficient capacity and labor planning • Additional job duties or responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications

• Able to initiate decisive, timely action to address day-to-day issues and obstacles, redirecting efforts to assure on-time execution and quality results • Exercises sound judgment to effectively solve problems • Works well under deadlines, self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, customer-focused, etc. • Works collaboratively with others to meet the needs of the organization • Utilizes six sigma/process improvement methodology to drive efficiencies within the DCs • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Microsoft Access experience preferred • Travel (up to 5%) to NYC office and regional retail locations • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or other related field • At least 3 years of S&OP, Supply Chain management, demand or inventory experience required • Experience within a highly nuanced and fast-paced business environment • Excellent communication including written, verbal, and presentations to senior level audience
