Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&AMerchandising will provide financial and business analysis in support of the Merchandising organization. You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing financial analysis, reporting, and tools. You will partner with the Merchandising organization to drive an understanding of how product strategy impacts sales and margin. You will prepare weekly, monthly and annual planning and forecasting.

Essential Functions

• Be the subject matter expert for compilation and detailed analysis of sales and margin results driven by the Merchandising department.
• Partner with & influence Merchandising to analyze business drivers and execute strategies to achieve business objectives.
• Liaise with the Accounting team; prepare P&L models and other management reports to forecast financial outcomes. Identify risks & opportunities in the best interest of the company.
• Utilize financial analysis, modeling and understanding of the key business drivers to identify opportunities and make recommendations for profit.
• Perform budgeting variance and forecasting analysis for various levels of management. Develop analytical material and assist in preparation of deliverables for leadership presentations.
• Provide analysis to support the development of financial planning standards, controls and measurements for use in meeting defined business metrics and key performance indicators.
• Collect data through interviews, analysis or other research techniques to support development, implementation or evaluation of programs.
• Design or assist in the design of communication vehicles for financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a cross functional environment and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem solving, organization and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting. MBA preferred.
• At least 3 years of related experience. Retail experience a plus.
